Kurt Decorte - Contact Center Technology Advisor

I've spent much of my career working with contact-center technology and operations, with particular expertise in workforce management, forecasting, staffing, scheduling, service levels and the practical economics of running a contact center.

I created Contact Center Zone to help contact-center leaders make better technology decisions based on real operational requirements, independent research and hands-on evaluation—not simply vendor marketing.

Why I Built Contact Center Zone

Choosing contact center software is rarely just a technology decision.

A platform that looks impressive on a feature comparison may be completely wrong for a particular contact center because of its agent count, call volumes, average handle time, service-level requirements, workforce-management needs, CRM environment, channels, implementation requirements or budget.

I've seen how operational decisions affect technology requirements—and how technology decisions affect contact-center performance.

That's why Contact Center Zone starts with the contact center itself.

The question isn't:

"Which software has the most features?"

The better question is:

"Which technology is the right fit for this contact center?"

My Areas of Expertise

My work focuses on the intersection of contact-center operations and technology.

Areas I cover include:

  • Contact-center software and CCaaS
  • Workforce management (WFM)
  • Forecasting and capacity planning
  • Agent staffing and scheduling
  • Erlang and service-level calculations
  • Average handle time (AHT) and operational metrics
  • Contact-center analytics
  • Quality management and coaching
  • AI customer-service technology
  • AI voice and conversational AI
  • Agent assist
  • AI-powered quality assurance
  • AI forecasting and workforce management
  • CRM and contact-center integrations
  • Omnichannel customer service
  • Customer-support software
  • Contact-center technology selection
  • Software pricing, total cost and ROI

How I Evaluate Technology

I don't believe a software vendor's feature list is enough to determine whether a platform is right for a contact center.

Where practical, I evaluate technology from an operator's perspective.

That can include:

  • Technology: What does the platform actually do?
  • Operations: How does it fit the way a contact center operates?
  • WFM: Does it support forecasting, staffing, scheduling and workforce-management requirements?
  • AI: Does the AI provide meaningful operational value, or is it primarily a marketing feature?
  • Integrations: Does it work with the CRM, helpdesk and other systems a business already uses?
  • Economics: What does it cost, what is included, and what can the total cost look like as the contact center grows?
  • Implementation: How difficult is it to deploy, configure and operate?
  • Fit: Most importantly, which types of contact centers is the technology actually suitable for?

Independent Research and Testing

Contact Center Zone is built around a simple principle:

Reviews and comparisons may consider software capabilities, pricing, integrations, usability, AI functionality, workforce management, operational fit and implementation considerations.

The objective isn't to declare one platform universally "the best."

It's to identify which solution is the best fit for a particular business and its requirements.

My goal is to help both understand what they actually need before they make a software decision.

From Operations to Technology

My background in call center and workforce management is particularly important to how I evaluate contact center technology.

Forecasting, staffing, scheduling, service levels and agent capacity aren't abstract software features. They directly affect cost, customer experience and operational performance.

That operational perspective helps connect the technology decision to the business problem.

Instead of starting with:

"What does this vendor sell?"

I start with:

"What does this contact center need?"

Then I work backward toward the technology.
